The blog should be well written, though it does not necessarily need to be in the Queen’s English. You should try to make sure that the language and the tone you use are reflective of your company’s ethos and image. The blog is there to provide information and advice to potential or existing customers, not to tell them about your best friend’s dog, what you had for breakfast, or how bad your day has been.

Company blogs are there for a few specific reasons. These are;

Your blog content should always be relevant to your site. This could be about the products or services you provide, or any news related to the industry. You could have articles about gift ideas if you sell ornaments, birthday cards or ties, or it could be about the most common misconceptions or misunderstandings about your industry. So long as it is relevant, it should be OK.
