Exanding on point 2, it’s important to know if this data is accurate. There are two methods (I just thought of from the top of my head) to measure this:
So, logging into Google Analytics I need to set the same time period (March 15 – 16 April) and only see traffic from Google:
Conclusion
Further to this, we can click on any individual keyword for its own stats. So, I’ll click on “Jquery scripts.”
Wait, there’s more.

We may post some more exciting data involving KWs with thousands of clicks in the posts following this… or shall I just leave it to the folks at SEOMoz!
- The site receives a good percentage of users in positions 3, 4 and 5
- The site is mostly in positions 6-10 (Sometimes 1-2)
- 22 (3.7%) users of 590 go to page 2
- The site receives 1% more users at position 5 that position 4
- We need plenty of data from lots of sites across different industries to get some good stats
- Is this data Accurate?
These stats show you how much of the SERPs your site captures for certain keywords, by measuring its click-through rate.
- Optimise your site for a keyword no one will guess and search for this keyword every day at different times using different Class C IP addresses.
- Check Google Analytics!
Clicking the “More” link takes us to statistics that Google haven’t ever released before:
Let’s now look at some other sites;
I think I’ll opt for option 2.
The second set of KWs were a lot more accurate in the difference, this may be because of the higher amount of traffic and data.
OK, but we can’t stand by this analysis, for two reasons:
So, from the above screenshot, we can see that the site receives 590 impressions for the keyword “Jquery scripts” which directs about 20% of searches to the site. Neat!
It certainly provides great stats for SEOs and researchers, but like everything Google do it is rather vague and nothing to go by.
| Keyword | WMT Clickthrough | GA Visits | Difference (%) |
| jquery scripts | 110 | 190 | 42.1 |
| jquery websites | 10 | - | |
| advanced jquery | 11 | - | |
| phpmyadmin alternatives | 22 | 35 | 37.1 |
| phpmyadmin alternative | 11 | - |
Some of the keywords have a click-through rate of has had some clicks? It is very likely it has not, as one of the keywords we know was on Page 1 Position 1 for the last 30 days has received a click-through rate of
Similar to Google Analytics, you can filter by date, and have a GA-type flash chart with your overall Impressions and Click-through rate for each day (This data only goes back to the 11th of March for me).

| ibiza blog | 110 | 144 | 23.6 |

It’s time for the SEO industry to get excited again. Google have released a neat new feature to their Webmaster Tools:
Now there’s a difference!
You will see this once you log in to Google WMT and examine a verified site.
Can it be that the stats in WMT are approx 40% less that those in GWT?
Well, it’s not 40%. Actually, it seems a bit more random.
In the top 10 keywords.
P.S. One interesting point to note:-
